The Doves I’ve Loved

Give me a moment of
hope and I’ll look awry.
The doves I’ve loved have
turned to crows in my sky.

Place me up on a pavilion
and play no games or deceive
I’ll love blindly and give
without expecting to receive.

The fields of grass we play
in have turned barren sour.
There are those who break
bonds of peace killing flowers.

Blossom does truth in ways
we would not ever expect.
Compare we do all past passions
praying for paths correct.

Words of wisdom come from
not those who think they are.
The sky is bleak and hazy
have become brilliant stars.

The past taints and all fall
but when we do values retained
and people who loved sincere
keep my compass forward remain.

If only more people appreciated how rare that is to find. Lovely, as always, Winchester!
