Control

Weeping I try and laugh in
a crippled world will it last?
Upon the meadows of roses
ice kills to break like glass.

Seasons turn to embattle me
across purple sky so clear.
Break me does this world
it turns in deep dark fear.

My power is evident to me
that I create my own universe
where the sky receives my ire;
the vast ocean hears my curse.

My voice falls down on sand,
on dirt that you walk on.
You and everyone think ways
different I might sing my song.

I can’t scale mountain shards
and give you expectations.
Yours stab at my tender side
and leave bloody abrasions.

I can only be my questions
and what I already know.
I can not navigate a place to
your heart if you don’t let go.
