Warmth From The Depths

Light is bending on
the edge of my sword.
I rise in depths at end
saith the sweet Lord.

For my sins I’ve slept
in a swampy marsh lit
by no fire within me
for there none did fit.

The world gave troves
of beauty but it ended.
As beauty does it came
but then was rescinded.

Found my blade from
the brambles of others.
No not a warm embrace
as if some loved lover.

I fought my way to win
a victory for the world
that said there was one
there to become unfurled.

Yet none came as I rose
except of those who cried
that the day they had won
is the day when they died.
