Never Changed

Emptied by the strangle
of my chorus I pour out
a disease of my making
you do not know about.

The fire is singing blue
for it is at its apex true.
The sun has filled me up
and I you never knew.

Hear the virtues of simple
tides and I’ll be visceral.
I want to drown it all it is
my side I hide the tickle.

Know the blade the thrill
of being free like the wind.
No regret see the sea open
now go repent for your sin.

Blinders on the drugs use
a temperance of your gold.
For you want to see the sea
even when you become old.

For the vice it grips like this
and I can trip further in holes.
Trip I took before I said not
even this will take its toll.

But the scars they dig deep
further into the further reach
of where mother earth turns
father time the scars he keeps.

Even the burn the ailment
that tortures to burn alive.
The sun and the grips of my
pain I will keep my vice.
